Volunteers...

Since its founding in 1979, Hospice of Warren County has provided care to patients dealing with life-limiting illnesses with expertise and compassion, through our inter-disciplinary care team approach. Volunteers have always been a vital part of our team. They provide outstanding services in all areas of our program, including our DeFrees Support Program, our comprehensive Hospice program, and our extensive bereavement services.

These dedicated volunteers bring to Hospice their unique talents and valuable skills. To add to their strengths, we require that volunteers complete a twenty hour training class and be able to contribute two to four hours a week.

TYPES OF VOLUNTEERS

Hospice of Warren County offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities:

Patient and Family Support—Volunteers provide meaningful visits to patients wherever they are, offering friendship, doing errands, helping with light housework, and providing respite for family members.

Bereavement Support—Volunteers with the guidance and training of the bereavement staff offer support to patients’ family members during the year following the death of their loved ones.

Office Support—Volunteers provide coverage in the office, after receiving on the job training.
